<meta />Rax, even though it wasn't home was still a welcome sight, while in the city I felt at least safe. In anticipation of our arrival Lord Draxus had somehow lowered the Chariot almost to the ground. There were lines of guards who were guiding us in, and as soon as we docked the Golem near the Chariot the Platinum Legion began to climb aboard and double checked the Mithril. We were then informed that Lord Draxus wished to see us immediately. As we disembarked the Golem we all realized we were short one. Scarloc had managed to sneak away in the confusion. When we arrived at Lord Draxus’ favored establishment, the Fountain of Ambrosia, we were greeted with a sign that didn’t allow any non humanoid customers. Apparently I angered someone in there and they didn’t want my adorable Galahad on the inside. One inside Draxus informed us that due to our success he told all the merchants on the Chariot that we had ten thousand credit. The only stipulation was that we would meet back at the restaurant at sundown. My first stop was to head to a Tattoo shop. Not any Tattoo shop but one where the Tattoo can be magically enchanted, however I learned that I needed to be able to cast the magic that I wanted to get enchanted. I then raced over to the go to magic shop on the Chariot. Apparently the owner and Scarloc had some kind of history? (I think Scarloc stood him up on a date or something like that). He had agreed to cast Magic Fang on Galahad permanently. This was going to not only allow Galahad to attack incorporeal creatures, but would increase her damage as well. Then for me I had my Cloak of Resistance further enchanted to give protection. I had this Cloak since I became a Ranger, it was my telltale item. Most people could recognize me due to the Cloak that I wore. The Hooded Ranger, it was a nickname that the Dragoons gave me, but had stuck around me for awhile. I also decided that it was time for a color change, instead of my favorite dark green, I had it be dyed the colors of the Kronsieg line. A dark violet and blue. It was time that I began to re earn my family name. However this finished my credit, so with nothing left to do I just walked back to the restaurant. Then came sundown and we there we all stood ready for our next mission. Draxus had said he learned the whereabouts of the Poison Lodge, however he would only share that information once we were all together. Once we sat down Lord Draxus congratulated us once more on a job well done. That’s when all the niceties ended. Then what I presume Lord Draxus is really like, came out. A cold power hungry man. Lord Draxus brought out the two last members of the poison lodge and at my saying had them both killed. He then went on to inform us that we now had two options. Option one, be killed here in the chariot; or two, take the fall for stealing the mithril and have the dwarves kill us. To prove how much power he held, he somehow had all the people currently on the chariot walk towards the edge and fall off. Killing them. Lord Draxus then walked off with Lord Darnoc. As he parted he shouted that Kayne was going to be keeping us company. We then had the entire Chariot to ourselves, besides this mysterious Kayne fellow. We soon learned that we were boxed in on all sides, the Chariot had some kind of invisible forcefield around it. What was also concerning was there was some kind of suspicious fog that suddenly surrounded us. Then someone spotted a figure, we all began to chase after it. It quickly vanished, so I began to look for tracks. However when I bent over to study the ground I felt all strength leave me. I fell to my names and I clutched my chest in pain. I had been stabbed, I don’t know when this happened, but whoever we were fighting was clearly going for the kill. A few centimeters more and it would of pierced my heart. After chasing tracks to no avail, we climbed a staircase that would normally lead to the hive. The hope was the funnel Kayne into a narrow corridor so that we may see his attack coming. However each of us in turn (besides Jiro) was attacked by Kayne. Each strike was barely not a lethal one. Then Percy began asking the group if we knew anything at all. Scarloc then piped up. Kayne was not only the Watcher, but he was Scarlocs undead brother. I guess this week is all about family issues. Percy then had an idea, if it was undead then it would be damaged by Percy’s healing magic. Giving off a burst of holy magic, we heard a shout from beneath us and a figure drop to the ground below. Lucius immediately jumped off, and began to chase Kayne. The rest of us had to play catch up. We raced down the stairs, then headed towards the sound of fighting. Jumping onto the back of Galahad, I grabbed PErcy and had Galahad run full pace to reach him. Then Lucius ran towards shouting that Kayne had turned into a fog. Then out of nowhere Kayne appeared next to us, it was in that instance that I felt a cold blade run into my neck. This however was a lethal shot. It had managed to reach my artery, and knocked me off of Galahad. As I was laying on the ground bleeding, the last thing I saw was PErcy reaching down trying to heal me. Then nothing. The next thing I knew I was waiting in a line, from what I remember this was where souls go to be judged, then sent on to their heavens. After what seemed like years, or maybe seconds it was my turn to be judged. I was sent to the Plane of Elysium. It was a giant forest, and bastion of endless nature. I felt oddly at home here, as if this was where I truly belonged. I began to walk, and walk, and walk. I walked for almost an eternity. Then I came across a lone figure. This man was simply sitting down on a log carving a piece of wood whistling a tune that I knew all too well. It was the same song that Matrena would often play on her Violin, or hum to herself.. I knew who this was, This was Matrena’s father Virnay. As I looked upon him I remembered, I had died in the middle of a fight; and what's more I made a promise to Matrena that I would return back to her alive. As I walked up to this figure he greeted me as a friend. He did not remember his name, the only memory that he really had was that of his daughter. I knelt before this dwarf, and making sure he was looking at me. I asked for his blessing and permission to marry his daughter. He looked me in the eye, and for the first time looked serious. He agreed, giving me his blessing and his permission. At the same time he broke off a piece of the wood he was carving, and informed me it was time to wake up. Then next thing I knew, I was back on the Material Plane. Both Percy and Lucius were trying to heal my body. The wound on my neck closed, but had left a scar along it. I then had Lucius help me to my fight. As he did so we all heard a slow methodical clapping. Lord Draxus had returned. Beside him was Mordrid with two arrows trained on me, Lord Darnoc, Olen, and some stranger chained up. Lord Draxus again gave us an ultimatum, die in battle against these three, or die to the Dwarves. I had just died, and I wasn't planning on that happening again, so alongside Lucius, and Scarloc agreed to fight to the death. I also had absolute faith that Mordrid would not fight us. Jiro however said he had an ace in the hole, and allowed himself to be executed by Darnoc. As Darnoc reached Jiro and raised his sword, he hesitated. Then looking back at Lucius gave a small wink. Then out of nowhere Kayne appeared, and stabbed Lord Draxus in the back. As Lord Draxus fell to the ground, Mordrid launched two arrows to Olen pinning him down. The chained figure then sprung up free of his chains and informed us, that they all had a bank to rob and vanished. Then we stood on the Chariot, alone, just our group and Olen. It felt like a page had been flipped in a book. We were done with Rax, we had accomplished our mission from King Aldwic. We even completed some personal missions. However I didn’t get a chance to really enjoy this moment, as all of a sudden a loud thudding could be heard. Then out of the forest came charging not one, not two, but ten Golems. Each one was being piloted by what appeared to be a Rune Priest. The fall of Rax had finally begun.
